Great White Shark

Please Note:

  • Companions/non-divers pay the same rate as divers
  • We are also able to collect you from Hermanus

The diving region of the White Shark is located near Gansbaai. You could experience all seasons in one day at the Cape of Good Hope, so our diving safaris are very weather dependant. We are only able to get the exact times of low and high tide from the harbour master on the eve of the Shark Tour.

Heaven smiles when angels travel. Within a 10 km distance between two small islands, lies a large underwater channel. Here is the nursery of the Great White Sharks. More specifically, it is the Dyer Island Nature Reserve. The islands are inhabited by penguins as well as seals which are the white shark’s choice prey. There are only two places left in the world where you are likely to be able to observe the big predator up close.

Schedule for the Shark Tour:

After about 30 minutes we will reach the shark area. We attract the sharks with a lure. The steel cage is then lowered into the water as the excitement starts to rise.

Soon a fin appears in the water. It moves towards the boat like a small submarine. You are now allowed into the cage. If the water is clear, you are able to take amazing underwater photos. Now we wait for just the right moment to descend your cage to see the Great White shark from up close!

Back at the harbour a light lunch will be waiting for you. You will be able to watch a video of your outing and purchase it.

Find out if you have the courage to meet the White Shark eye to eye. He is an elegant and fast predator. His species is fast becoming extinct which is something that we and other marine life advocates want to help prevent.

We look forward to your inquiry.
